A fantastic ending of 2006 and inauguration of 2007, the 400-year jubilee year took place at Gammplatsen (the Old Site) in Lycksele on New Year's Eve.

Several thousand people were there for amagic evening under the open sky. Anna Åsdell opened the inauguration programme with a bear dance that spellbound the spectators. 








Miranda Algotsson, our own fire artist, gave a very spectacular fire performance.




























The show was performed from a stage of snow and ice. Here you can see the Lycksele Chamber Choir, conducted by Rego Björklund. They sang an new anthem composed for the jubilee year by Jonas Knutsson, and the lyrics were written by arts students from Tannbergsskolan. 











 "The King's emmissary", Sven-Erik Nordström, declared Lycksele official church and market site in Lapland in 1607. "The dean", Kent Nordin, received this declaration.
